Photo A Day: Beach Roses at Portland Head Light, Maine

To try and keep me honest in posting my photos regularly: Welcome to my Photo A Day! Topic: Whatever strikes my fancy. Frequency: Daily-ish, I hope.

Recently, George and I went to Maine to visit some friends for a long-overdue visit. We managed to pack about six days’ worth of fun and adventure into three; I am still recovering, but man! What a trip. And what weather. It was perfect.

On one of those perfect mornings we went to Portland Head Light, one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world. The beach roses were in bloom.

Perhaps the hardiest roses you’ll ever find, clinging to the challenging New England coastline.

Perfect.
